Synthetic Hair Care

We Recommend Washing Your Alternative Hair Every 6-8 Wears

CLEANSE & CONDITION

  • Before washing your wig or hairpiece, gently remove any tangles using your Wide Tooth Comb
  • Wet hair completely using cool running water, allowing the water to flow in the direction of the fibers
  • Do not submerge or soak your wig or topper
  • Gently lather the hair with a small amount of shampoo specifically formulated for synthetic hair, making sure the hair is traveling in the same direction
  • DO NOT rub hair as this may cause tangling
  • Rinse thoroughly under cool running water until water runs clear
  • Wrap wig or hairpiece in a towel and gently pat dry
  • Spray fibers with a conditioning spray (3-5 pumps) keeping away from base of wig or hairpiece
  • Please follow instructions for use depending on products used
  • Gently detangle hair using your Wide Tooth Comb

DRY & STYLE

  • Allow wig or hairpiece to air dry naturally by placing on a plastic or wire wig stand
  • DO NOT blow dry synthetic hair
  • For mid-length to long length styles, apply a detangling spray, (3-5 pumps) focusing on bottom half of wig or hairpiece.
  • Gently comb through using your Wide Tooth Comb
  • We recommend using your fingertips or wig comb for your desired style
  • Consider additional products to add texture and definition, using a small amount and applying using your fingertips
  • Do NOT use heat to style synthetic fiber (curling irons, flat irons or blow dryers)

TIPS

  • Be cautious when standing near a heat source (i.e., open oven, heater, etc.)
  • Excessive heat can damage the fiber
  • We recommend using a detangling spray with a wide tooth comb to detangle your piece after each wear

I am in LOVE with Diana LF in Frosted Taupe!! She was perfect from the moment I took her out of the bag, gave her a shake and put her on. She has a beautiful lace front, simply amazing. Diana is regular synthetic and the fibers are beautiful. I LOVE Diana!! I can style the bangs off my face and the lace front is fabulous. No one can tell I'm wearing a wig. My hubby says even he can't tell it's a wig. Of course, he knows it is. I am 73 and have been married 53 years. My hubby has always wanted me to have long hair, but I couldn't manage it with my type hair. He is SO happy with my Diana wig. He thinks I look sexy!! And my family and friends say I look so much younger. Woo Hooo!!! My search for a lovely wig started this year in mid-May when I had to go to a wedding shower on 6/3 and the wedding on 6/4. I have never in my life considered a wig. But I had not been to my hairstylist for 15 months and my hair was a mess. My bio hair was growing in with no color. The roots were gray about 7" of growth and the rest was orange faded from light brown hair dye, about 10" long. I had been stuck in a rut with the same stylist, hairstyle, and hair color for over decade. And I was too scared to change. Since I had a wedding to go to and could not go to a salon due to Covid, I had to find a solution. Luckily I found DIANA LF in Frosted Taupe from Godiva's Secret Wigs. I could not envision myself in any style but my old one, so my sister helped me choose Diana. I have gotten so many compliments when wearing Diana!! I am happy Wig Studio 1 has Godiva's Secret Wigs among the brands they sell. These are fabulous wigs that don't get any mention from WS1 reviewers. Not sure why. So I just HAD to speak up for the awesome brand and my Diana!!

I was unhappy as soon as I opened the box. When I peered in, I saw a plastic bag. Inside was my wig turned inside out. No net on the wig and no box with tissue paper covering the wig. It was so full of static .

The wig itself seemed like it's going to be nice once I can get the static out and train it. The wig came out of the bag with the back flowing away from the face. I did get the sides to frame the face finally, but the back needs training to look the way it should. I had to trim the bangs a little because I like it down instead of on the side.

I feel if the wig was packaged like my other wigs that I have, I would have been happy with it.

Hi Kay!!! I apologize for any disappointment. We receive Godiva's Wigs in plastic bags with no tissue or hair net and forward them to our clients in a USPS box typically the way we receive them. They don't come in a wig box to our location with any packaging. I hope this information helps a bit. Each wig manufacturer is different.
